The Arts at CCA
We believe that the aesthetic component of our students' eduction is crucial to their development. We include music and visual art instruction as part of their formal classroom training and encourage their participation in extra-curricular activities.

Music
Music instruction begins in Kindergarten with a formal, twice-a-week courses taught to all students in grades 1-6. Of course, grammar school classrooms are full of singing throughout the day. Students in grades 7-12 must take choose three music electives during their Upper School years. Students are also invited to participate in the Treble Choir (grades 4-6) and the Mixed Chorus (grades 7-12). These choirs regularly perform at CCA events.
ArtStudents begin studying the rudiments of art in Kindergarten, with dedicated courses in art commencing in 2nd Grade and continuing through 6th Grade. The art instruction during these years focuses on drawing, and many of the art projects are integrated with the grade's history time period. Art electives are offered in the Upper School, with each student required to take three during their seventh to twelfth grade years. Student artwork is almost always on display in the school building.
Drama
Grammar School students are informally introduced to drama through historical skits, acting out sections of literature and stories such as Greek myths. Drama is offered as an elective course in the Upper School. Older students are also welcome to participate in the school's extra-curricular drama presentations. Student productions have included Antigone in 2004, The Fantasticks in 2006 and Midsummer Night's Dream in 2008 and Shakespeare's Twelfth
